Most likely you’ve gotta buy stuff at some point. If so, you might as well make money while you do it right?!?
There are a lot of cashback sites out there. Here are some of my favorites and tips for getting the maximum amount of money when using cashback sites like these.
Cashback Sites
Ebates is the mother of all cashback sites.
Ebates has been around a super long time and is totally legit. Basically you sign up for an account, then when you need to shop online you just shop through the Ebates site. It’s really easy to use and you’ll be surprised at how many stores participate in Ebates cashback.
How it works: Retailers pay Ebates to send them customers. For example, a store like Sephora will pay Ebates a fee for sending you to them. Ebates pays you a percentage of the purchase price for going through them, and they the retailer makes the sale. Everyone wins. Sephora got the sale, Ebates made some money, and you got some cash back.
Ebates tip: If you need your item today, buy whatever you need online using Ebates and then choose “store pickup” when you check out. This way you’ll get your cashback through Ebates but still be able to bring it home today.
Sign up for Ebates through my link and automatically get $10 added to your Ebates account.
Swagbucks for Cashback and More
Swagbucks is an all-in-one cashback site. It rewards you for shopping, just like Ebates does. What makes Swagbucks different however is that your can also earn cash by taking surveys, playing games, and completing online activities.
Swagbucks Tip: The fastest way to earn swagbucks is by letting the Swagbucks TV app run on my phone. I just turn it on in the morning and let it play. It normally shows movie trailers one after another and for every few videos that are “watched” I earn a few swagbucks. It’s surprising how quickly they add up. I also installed the Swagbucks browser. This earns me at least 25 to 50 extra swagbucks per day just by doing internet searches I would already be doing.

Earn Cashback from your Receipts with Ibotta
Ibotta gives you cash back on items you’ve already purchased. It’s cool because you can earn cash back on things you normally buy anyway, like bread and lettuce. I earned 50 cents back this morning for a quick run to the store to grab milk and eggs. It wasn’t much but it was stuff I had to buy anyway– might as well earn something for it. The app also has some larger cash rewards for stores like Bed, Bath and Beyond and Best Buy. These are great when you’re doing holiday gift shopping. The deals on Ibotta change pretty frequently so keep that in mind when shopping.
How it works: Look through the app to see if you bought anything that has an active cashback status. Then, just scan the item’s bar code and your store receipt with the Ibotta app to earn cash back.
Ibotta tip: Always check the app after a shopping trip to see if anything you bought is eligible for cash back. They add new stores everyday. (The app even supports some local stores. My regional grocery store is included so yours may be too.)
Sign up through my referral link you will automatically start out with $10 in your Ibotta account.
Spot Deals and Earn Cashback with DealSpotr
DealSpotr is the newest cashback site and coupon deal finder on the block. It’s also completely different than the cashback sites you may be used to. This is a good thing because it gives you another way to earn cash and gift cards without filling out surveys or earning points for shopping online. Instead, DealSpotr rewards you for posting and sharing coupon codes.

How to Find Deals
Now that you know how to make money from cashback sites, let’s talk about finding good deals.
- Groupon is a great place to find local deals and national retailer deals. You can find activities and specials going on locally or find discounts through Groupon Goods at national online retailers. .
- Daily Sale is a type of clearinghouse for deals. They follow internet trends and offer the lowest prices on popular items. They also offer a 30 money-back guarantee. This is a great site to price electronics and jewelry but they have pretty much everything.
